This passion has led me on a lifetime of learning.”
Alternative building techniques, building science, PassivHaus, NetZero, LifeTime Homes, Off-grid, rainwater use, and greywater reuse all share a place in my heart, and I bring the essence of them to every project.
With each project I complete, and as I continue to learn, I more strongly believe that a space can either simplify or complicate our lives.
I’ve had the pleasure of sharing a home with multiple generations. From my grandparents, to my children, to my parents as they age. It’s given me the advantage of experiencing how space is used at different stages of our lives, and what elements remain constant throughout.
I’ve been frustrated over the years by spaces that look nice on the surface, but were poorly laid out or weren’t well built. With rising prices for materials, labour, and the energy needed to heat & operate our homes, thoughtfully designed, energy-efficient construction becomes more & more important. Well-designed spaces should provide logical transitions, adaptable layouts, and thoughtful details that have a positive impact on your life.
